Relevance.

At the end of 2019, in the People's Republic of China (PRC), in the city of Wuhan (Hubei Province), cases of pneumonia were recorded and a new coronavirus was identified, which had not previously been detected in the human population. On February 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) assigned the official name of the infection caused by the new coronavirus – COVID-19 ("Coronavirus disease 2019"). On February 11, 2020, the International Committee on the Taxonomy of Viruses assigned an official name to the causative agent of the infection-SARS-CoV-2.

The rapid spread of the virus has led to a pandemic, which has posed new challenges for health professionals related to the diagnosis and provision of medical care to patients in conditions of information scarcity.

Currently, information about COVID-19 is being accumulated, and there is an active analysis and exchange of materials among the world medical community on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of this disease.

 

As part of the course, we:

- let's analyze the issues of epidemiology of COVID-19;

- tell us the morphology of coronavirus pneumonia;

- let's analyze the features of the clinical picture of COVID-19;

- let's analyze the role of laboratory and instrumental diagnostics in establishing the diagnosis of COVID-19;

- we will tell you about the principles of treatment of COVID-19, based on international publications and personal experience;

- we will discuss the prospects for the use of genetically engineered biological drugs and janus kinase inhibitors in the treatment of COVID-19;

- we will tell you the specifics of cancer treatment in patients with COVID-19;

- we will talk about the tactics of pharmacotherapy of arterial hypertension in patients with COVID-19, we will present data from a meta-analysis of international studies on the effectiveness of modern treatment regimens;

- we will tell you about the features of COVID-19 intensive care;

- we will show modern methods and techniques of protection of medical personnel, the use of personal protective equipment.

 After completing the training, students will be:

- have an up-to-date understanding of the epidemiology of COVID-19;

- know the morphology of coronavirus pneumonia;

- be able to recognize the features of the clinical picture of COVID-19;

- be able to interpret the results of laboratory and instrumental diagnostics of COVID-19;

- be able to apply in their practice the COVID-19 treatment regimens developed on the basis of the accumulated experience of foreign and domestic specialists, taking into account the peculiarities of the manifestation of the pathological process in patients;

- to know and apply in their clinical practice the possibilities of genetically engineered biological drugs and janus kinase inhibitors in the treatment of COVID-19;

- know the specifics of cancer treatment in patients with COVID-19;

- know and apply COVID-19 intensive care algorithms in your clinical practice;

- know and apply in their clinical practice the most effective pharmacotherapy regimens for hypertension in patients with COVID-19;

- know and use modern methods and techniques of protection of medical personnel, the use of personal protective equipment.
