Relevance.

Breast cancer is the most common malignant disease in women in Russia.

In 2018, 70,682 new cases were registered, which is 20.9% in the structure of the incidence of malignant neoplasms in women. The average age of the patients was 61.5 years. The average annual rate of increase in morbidity (a standardized indicator) was 1.97 % over the past 10 years. The cumulative risk of developing breast cancer in 2018 was 5.87 % with a life expectancy of 74 years.

In recent years, the number of patients diagnosed with the disease in stages I–II has been increasing. So, in 2018, this figure was 71.2 %, while 10 years ago it was 62.7%. The standardized mortality rate decreased from 2008 to 2018 from 17.05 to 14.02, respectively.

The risk of dying from breast cancer in women in 2018 was 1.6%. The proportion of women registered for 5 years or more is 59.8 %. In the structure of mortality of the female population, breast cancer is also in the first place, accounting for 16.2 %. Breast cancer in men is less than 1% of tumors of this localization, occupying 0.3 % in the structure of morbidity. The principles of diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in men do not differ from those in women.

Chemotherapy and hormone therapy play an essential role in the complex treatment of breast cancer in almost all stages of the disease. This is due to the peculiarities of this tumor – even in the early stages of the disease, there is a high risk of distant micrometastases, especially in the presence of risk factors (axillary lymph node damage, negative estradiol and progesterone receptors, overexpression of Neg-2/neu, etc.). The use of adjuvant chemotherapy and hormone therapy significantly improved the results of treatment of operable breast cancer. In advanced breast cancer, chemotherapy and hormone therapy are the main methods of treatment that can significantly extend the patient's life and improve its quality. In 10-25% of women with disseminated breast cancer, it is possible to achieve complete tumor regression with a long relapse-free period.

8. Let's study the general principles of treatment of luminal metastatic breast cancer;

9. Let's analyze modern approaches to the treatment of disseminated triple negative breast cancer;

10. We will tell you the features of the therapy of HER-2-positive breast cancer.

The form of certification of students: intermediate testing on the sections of the course, final testing after the completion of the development of the educational modules of the program.

Students who have successfully passed the final certification are issued a certificate of professional development.
