Relevance.

General proctology includes a list of benign diseases of the anorectal region such as hemorrhoids, anal fissure, fistulas of the anus, as well as epithelial coccygeal passage and others. These diseases are quite common among the adult population of working age and reduce the quality of life. In case of untimely and unprofessional treatment, they can lead to serious consequences, up to disability, so there is not only medical, but also socio-economic significance. In the structure of the coloproctological hospital, these pathologies occupy up to 30%.

This course is devoted to the analysis of anatomical features, clinical symptoms, diagnostic and differential diagnosis. As part of this course, we will consider various modern methods of conservative, minimally invasive and surgical treatment of the most common diseases of the anal canal – hemorrhoids and anal fissures, rectal fistulas. Special attention will be paid to the management of the postoperative period, the features of pre-emptive anesthesia, as well as the treatment of hemorrhoids in pregnant women and women who have given birth.

Within the course:

students will gain basic knowledge on diagnosis, treatment (medical and surgical), rehabilitation after surgical interventions for major general proctological diseases, as well as get acquainted with foreign and domestic standards of treatment, learn various methods of surgical interventions.
