For consultation with coloproctologist MCSC named after A. S. Loginov was approached by a 68-year-old patient.
About a year ago his began to worry about constipation but due to the epidemic of coronavirus infection, he did not seek medical help. In mid-October, the patient noted a sharp deterioration laxatives stopped helping and there were pains in the abdomen.
In this regard, he was admitted to the emergency hospital. Against the background of conservative therapy, the obstruction phenomena were stopped, but during the examination a malignant tumor of the colon and the patient was sent to the MCSC named after A. S. Loginov.
In the MCSC, the patient underwent an additional examination and a diagnosis was established – rectosigmoid colon cancer.
According to the results of the discussion at the multidisciplinary oncological Council, a decision was made on surgical treatment.
The patient was performed laparoscopic anterior rectal resection with dilated lymphadenectomy and on the 5th day after the operation, the patient was discharged home with fully restored intestinal function.
