Robotic surgery is becoming more accessible

Over the past four years, about 4,500 minimally invasive robotic surgical interventions have been performed in the capital's hospitals. Since the beginning of 2022, there have already been more of them than in the entire "docklike" 2019. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova.

"Modern technologies are used everywhere in Moscow medicine. Some of the most complex operations are performed by doctors using robotic systems. Such equipment expands the capabilities of medical specialists several times. At the same time, operations performed with the help of robotic complexes are low-traumatic and allow patients to recover faster. The availability and number of such modern medical interventions in the capital is constantly growing," commented Anastasia Rakova.At MCSC, our surgeons operate using the DaVinci robotic system – such equipment provides unique opportunities: high-resolution visualization of the surgical field, precision and accuracy of instrument movements, comfortable conditions for the surgeon and minimal trauma.

All this makes it possible to improve the results of surgical treatment, reduce the time of surgery and the time of rehabilitation of the patient."Two robotic systems have been installed in the MCSC named after A.S. Loginov.

These systems are actively used for treatment in urology, gynecology, coloproctology, thoracic and abdominal surgery. More than 30% of all operations of our center are performed using a robot," said Alexander Belousov, head of the short–stay hospital, senior researcher at the Department of High-tech Surgery MCSC.The spread of new robotic surgical systems over the next few years will accelerate the introduction of these technologies and make them more accessible to patients with a wide variety of diseases.
