Differential diagnosis of cystic formations of the pancreas

Relevance. Cystic formations of the pancreas (CO) are a fairly large group of diseases in the structure of the pathology of the pancreas (pancreas). Among them, the greatest importance is assigned to pseudocysts (PC) of various etiologies (post-necrotic, post-traumatic, due to the pathology of the biliary tract). PC accounts for 80-90 % in the structure of all CO-pancreas. This problem is caused by the annual increase in the incidence of acute pancreatitis, both in the Russian Federation and in most developed countries of the world. Pseudocyst of the pancreas is the most common complication of acute and chronic pancreatitis. 5-10% is accounted for by cystic neoplasias, among which there are mucinous neoplasias (mucinous cystadenoma (MCA), mucinous cystadenocarcinoma (MCAC), intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasia (IPMN)) and non-mucinous neoplasias (serous cystadenoma (SCA), solid tumors with secondary cystic changes: neuroendocrine tumors (NET), solid tumors pseudopapillary tumors (SPN), acinar-cell cystadenocarcinoma, cystic lymphangioma, etc.). Congenital CO also account for 5-10%.

As part of the program, we:

  1. We will discuss the epidemiological, etiological aspects, and pathogenetic mechanisms of the development of various cystic formations of the pancreas.
  2. We will study diagnostic methods: biochemical markers, ultrasound, EUS, MSCT, MRPHG in cystic formations of the pancreas.
  3. We will teach the differential diagnosis of various cystic formations of the pancreas according to instrumental research methods.
  4. Let us consider the features of differential diagnosis of various cystic formations of the pancreas according to cytological and histological studies.
  5. We will study the features of the management tactics of patients with various cystic formations of the pancreas and the indications for surgical treatment.
  6. We will tell you the types of surgical treatment for various localization and type of cystic formations of the pancreas.
  7. In the course of training, modern recommendations and algorithms for diagnosis and treatment will be presented.
