X-ray mammography in the diagnosis of breast cancer (18 hours)

Relevance: In recent decades, breast cancer has firmly taken a leading position among oncological diseases in women, both in terms of morbidity (20.9%) and mortality (16.7%). 
Despite the widespread and rapid development of various methods of diagnosing breast cancer, its early recognition is still difficult. According to the data of the P. A. Herzen Moscow Research Institute, the number of breast cancers in situ in 2015 was 2.6 cases per 1000 breast cancer patients. The complexity of the problem of early diagnosis becomes obvious in comparison with another common tumor – cervical cancer. The incidence of cervical cancer in situ in 2015 was 27.7 cases per 1000 cases.
Increased detection of early-stage breast cancer (Tis-T1) is possible due to the extensive and systematic use of mammography. This educational program is devoted to the peculiarities of mammography, the interpretation of its results and the organization of mammographic screening of breast cancer. 

As part of the educational program, we:

  1. Let's analyze the epidemiology, etiology and pathogenesis of breast cancer.
  2. Principles of organization of mammographic screening of breast cancer.
  3. Let's analyze the method of conducting a mammographic examination.
  4. Let's analyze the concept of radiological density of breast tissue.
  5. We will study in detail the radiological semiotics of breast cancer using the concepts of the BIRADS system.
  6. We will analyze in detail the variants of calcification in breast tissues in the context of early diagnosis of breast cancer.
