Cystoscopy
Mandatory list of documents for research
- Referral (form # 057 / y) and an extract from the ICAB (form # 027/y) - if the study will be conducted in another building of the polyclinic or another MO.
- Data from previous studies/inpatient treatment – if available.
- Ultrasound, MPT, and CT data-if available.
Patient preparation
- 2 hours before the study, the patient should stopeating food.
- Warn the patient to remove all metal objects in the genital area (piercing).
- After the study, the patient needs to consume morebone fluids to increase the volume of urine released. It is normal to warn the patient that blood may appear in the urine for 1-2 days. Also, after the study, there may be pain in the lower abdomen, burning in the urethra. Recommend that the patient not perform intense physical activity, such as playing tennis, jogging, or physical training programs, for a week after the procedure. Warn the patient to immediately inform the attending physician if there are the following symptoms: prolonged delay of the urge to urinate, the constant presence of bright red blood or blood clots in the urine, an increase in body temperature after cystoscopy, chills accompanied by trembling, inability to urinate in the presence of the urge to urinate, frequent urges that are accompanied by burning sensations and pain in the urethra, more than three days, and pain in the lower back.
