X-ray densitometry in the MCSC
NewsDensitometry-Bone mineral density (BMD) study with fracture risk assessment (FRAX) (Fig.1) and determination of the composition of the body (Fig. 2). A study on a densitometer provides more information about the patient's body than a measurement on a scale or a calculation of the body mass index.

The study allows you to identify:
- the ratio of muscle, fat and bone tissue in the human body;
- muscle imbalance after injuries or uneven training;
- excess adipose tissue (visceral fat) around the internal organs;
- the main indicators of metabolism: the resting metabolic rate, the total amount of water in the body, the amount of intra-and extracellular fluid.
- the dynamics of the state of the body during treatment or training.
In our center, the study is carried out on the Healthcare Lunar Prodigy device.
How is the research going?:
- scan time no more than 15 minutes;
- the patient is positioned in the desired position on a comfortable platform while the scanner moves along the body (Fig. 3);
- the person must be in a stationary position;
- at the end of the study, the specialists will provide a report and explain the results.
When is densitometry necessary?
- Metabolic diseases, overweight.
- Planning for weight loss.
- Evaluation of the effect and correction of treatment.
- Diseases of the digestive system.
- Control of the dynamics of the state of the body, adipose tissue and bone mineral density.
- Control of muscle mass gain after injury, surgery.
- Optimization of training sessions.
- Preparation of training programs before competitions.
A contraindication to densitometry is pregnancy, despite the extremely low dose of X-rays.
You can get a study and get a consultation with an endocrinologist-nutritionist at the "Mammological Center (Women's Health Clinic)" of the MCSC named after A. S. Loginov at the address Entuziastov Highway, 86. We are located on the 7th floor in the 7th building.
