New equipment for oncology diagnostics in the MCSC

News

It will help doctors in the diagnosis of cancer.

Six Moscow clinics have equipped histochemical laboratories for the diagnosis of cancer according to the new standard, said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development. They have installed modern devices that help determine the nature of the tumor and choose a therapy that does not affect healthy cells.

"As part of the new standard of cancer care, we have started equipping the laboratories of six multidisciplinary cancer centers in the city with the most modern equipment. 241 units of the latest medical equipment have already been purchased and installed, and 50 more laboratory and research microscopes will be delivered in March 2020. The presence of laboratories in the centers and their modern equipment are critical for accurate diagnosis and the correct selection of therapy, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient's body," said Anastasia Rakova.

Now doctors can use histoscaners to diagnose patients, allowing them to more accurately determine the localization and size of altered tissue, centrifuges for separating liquid samples, precise fluorescent microscopes, rotary microtomes for working with tissues and substances, cold storage chambers for storing biomaterial, and much more.

The new equipment was installed in six multidisciplinary cancer centers: in the city Clinical Oncology Hospital (GKOB) No. 62, GKOB No. 1, city clinical hospital (GKB) No. 57 named after D. D. Pletnev, S. P. Botkin GKB, GKB No. 40 and the Moscow Clinical Scientific and Practical Center named after A. S. Loginov. The pathomorphological laboratories opened in them allow you to accurately diagnose oncological diseases and choose the right therapy, taking into account the characteristics of the patient's body.
