Ready-made medical reports are automatically uploaded to the patient's electronic medical record.

In Moscow, 1,300 digital diagnostic devices were integrated into a single digital network: computer and magnetic resonance imaging devices, mammographs, densitometers, X-ray complexes, fluorographs and angiographs. Now they are connected to the Unified Radiological Information Service (ERIS) of EMIAS.

Radiologists who have access to the service can remotely describe medical images according to their specialization, and ready-made medical reports are automatically uploaded to the patient's electronic medical record.

"Today, Moscow occupies one of the leading positions in the world in the digitalization of healthcare in general and radiation diagnostics in particular. The COVID-19 epidemic has only accelerated the process of combining diagnostic equipment, thanks to which doctors can quickly and effectively describe studies remotely, without coming into contact with patients. We have completed the process of combining the diagnostic devices of city hospitals and polyclinics into a single digital network — now 1300 digital diagnostic devices are connected to a Single radiological Information service EMIAS. Thanks to this, during the appointment, the clinician sees the radiologist's conclusion in the electronic medical record and, if necessary, can immediately view the image — this helps him to make a diagnosis or prescribe an additional examination. The patient receives a description of their study in an electronic medical record at mos.ru and in the mobile app "EMIAS.INFO" immediately after the radiologist finishes filling out the protocol. A personal digital archive of each patient's data is also stored in the ERIS: doctors can access it to track the dynamics of changes. All this significantly improves the quality of diagnostics, " she said.Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

The process of connecting digital equipment in Moscow polyclinics and hospitals is complete: in 2019-2020, more than 1,300 devices were included in the service circuit, most of which are X — ray machines-more than 580 units. Diagnostic equipment in the city's hospitals accounts for 51 percent of the total number of installed equipment and includes, in particular, angiographs necessary for intravascular diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations.

"Combining diagnostic devices into a single network improves the quality of radiation diagnostics and makes it more accessible to residents of the city. All the necessary procedures, from mammography to CT-examination, can be carried out in your district clinic. You do not need to go to the other end of the city if you need a narrow specialist who can perform an expert description of a complex case: all medical images uploaded to ERIS are available to experts of the Moscow Reference Center for Radiation Diagnostics-leading radiologists, candidates and doctors of medical sciences, members of international associations. The creation of the Moscow Reference Center is another step ahead of the world practice: it is the first teleradiology center organized in the public health system, " said Sergey Morozov, Director of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine.

The Unified Radiological Information Service began to be developed in 2014 with the support of the Moscow Government on the basis of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine. Currently, up to 25 thousand radiation tests are uploaded to the service every day, which are performed in Moscow.
