Breast diagnosis: Biopsy
The Women's Health Clinic of the MCSC applies a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis of breast diseases.
It includes:
- Mammography
- Ultrasound of the mammary glands and regional zones
But any pathology should be confirmed or excluded by the results of laboratory tests.
- To do this, a fine needle aspiration biopsy or a trepan biopsy of the breast is performed
- The resulting material is sent to the laboratory for cytological or histological examination.
More details are given by the head of the branch No. 3 of the Women's Health Clinic of the MCSC, A. K. Andronov.
