Liver cancer. Patient's feedback on treatment at MCSC

News

Today we are telling the story of our patient Andrei Nikolaevich.

In October 2024, a man was faced with severe abdominal pain, due to which he was urgently hospitalized in a surgical hospital. Follow-up examination showed cytolysis syndrome (increased liver enzymes), and computed tomography revealed a neoplasm in the liver.

Andrey Nikolaevich was recommended to seek help from the Department of hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery of the MCSC named after A.S. Loginov.

Experienced doctors of our Center, when evaluating CT and MRI, found a fairly large liver formation in the patient, besides, it affected important blood vessels of the organ. And all other examinations indicated that the tumor was malignant in nature.

According to the decision of the oncological council, at first the man received chemotherapy treatment, after which the surgeons of the department performed an operation to remove the tumor. The complexity of the intervention was the location of the tumor and its connection with the vessels of the liver. Therefore, during the operation, doctors temporarily disconnected the liver from blood circulation and cooled its tissue, protecting the cells from damage.

Such manipulations belong to the category of expert complexity and require highly qualified doctors, therefore they are carried out only in medical centers with extensive experience in the field of liver surgery.

The operation was successful and after 2 weeks Andrei Nikolaevich was discharged home. He shared his impressions of the treatment he received at our Center in this video.
