MCSC Expert at the 28th Annual International Congress EHS 2026
NewsWhen standard solutions are not enough, experience, skill and innovative surgical technologies come to the fore.
Such approaches were presented by the MCSC named after A.S. Loginov at the annual Congress of the European Society of Herniologists (EHS 2026), which was held in Porto (Portugal) and brought together leading specialists in hernia surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction from all over the world.
Deputy Chief Physician for Quality Control of Medical Activities and organization of surgical services MCSC, surgeon, Ph.D. Bogdan Borisovich Orlov made a presentation:
- "ETEP-access for ventral hernioplasty with Karolinska crossover in a patient who underwent TRAM reconstruction for breast cancer and abdominoplasty."
The focus is on a clinical case that required a non-standard surgical solution. The presented experience demonstrated the possibilities of modern minimally invasive technologies even in the most difficult situations, when the patient has already had several large-scale reconstructive interventions.
As part of the scientific program of the congress, Bogdan Borisovich presented a poster presentation on the treatment of patients with giant ventral hernias with domain loss — one of the most difficult problems of modern abdominal surgery. The work is based on the practical experience of MCSC specialists and reflects modern approaches to the restoration of the abdominal wall in patients with severe pathology.
Participation in EHS 2026 was an opportunity not only to exchange experience with the world's leading experts, but also to present the achievements of the MCSC to the international professional community.
