MCSC expert at the main Russian arrhythmological Forum
NewsThe main Russian arrhythmological forum dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the arrhythmology service of the Leningrad Research Institute of Cardiology - Almazov Center was held in St. Petersburg. The main topics of discussion were topical issues of clinical arrhythmology, fundamental electrophysiology of the heart, new approaches to the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and conduction disorders.
Sergey Alekseevich Vachev, Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the MCSC named after A.S. Loginov, made two reports on the results of surgical treatment of patients with chronic (persistent) atrial fibrillation at the forum. The reports were devoted to thoracoscopic radiofrequency (RF) isolation of arrhythmogenic zones of the left atrium, performed by patients who do not have prospects for drug and X-ray surgical treatment methods.
The presented reports were highly appreciated by the expert community and caused a lively discussion among colleagues.
