Igor Khatkov-Honorary Member of the American Surgical Association

Prof. Igor Yevgenyevich Khatkov, Director of the MCSC, Chief Oncologist of Moscow, was elected an Honorary member of the American Surgical Association by a unanimous vote of the Council. This is the highest recognition that a leading academic surgical society can give to a fellow surgeon from another country.

The American Surgical Association was founded in 1880 and is the oldest and most prestigious surgical organization in its country and in the world. It consists of the most famous top surgeons, presidents of the world's thematic associations from leading medical institutions.

There are currently 98 honorary fellows worldwide. Prof. Khatkov became the 99th.
