Live broadcast "We will help you!": stomach cancer and early diagnosis
Stomach cancer is one of the most common oncological diseases in Russia. He ranks 6th in the number of new cases. It is believed that this disease affects only the elderly. Indeed, 6 out of 10 patients are over 65 years old. But the young are not fully protected either.
The problem is that malignant neoplasms of the stomach develop slowly and do not manifest themselves for a long time. As a result, in 40% of cases, the diagnosis is made already in the late stages.
The main thing is early diagnosis. The earlier the disease is detected, the higher the chances of successful treatment and recovery.
What is important to know:
- what risk factors exist and how to reduce them;
- does nutrition affect the development of the disease;
- are gastritis and ulcers related to oncology;
- what symptoms should alert.
These and other issues were discussed by experts during the live broadcast of the project "We will help you!" organized by the Scientific Society "Medical Practice", the theater "Helikon-opera" and the TV channel "Doctor".
Margarita Viktorovna Chebotareva, gastroenterologist of the Department of Pathology of the pancreas, biliary tract and upper digestive tract of the MCSC named after A.S. Loginov, took part in the project.
