For example, on the eve and on the day of blood donation, it is not recommended to eat fatty, fried, spicy and smoked food, bananas, nuts, as well as dairy products, eggs and butter. 48 hours before the visit to the transfusion station, you can not drink alcohol, and 72 hours before you do not take medications containing aspirin and analgesics. And if you have recently had a tattoo, then you can donate blood only a year after the end of the procedure.

 

In addition, the Blood Center regularly conducts "Thank you, Donor" campaigns in many organizations and enterprises of the capital, during which the voluntary collection of donated blood from employees is carried out.

 

– Every year in Moscow, about 100 thousand people need blood transfusions. These are not only people with certain diseases who need such help regularly, but also patients with a surgical profile. However, one donation is three lives saved. With regular blood donation for 10 years, the average man can save 150 patients, " Olga Mayorova noted. – Therefore, we encourage all those who would like to take a possible part in solving this noble task, to contact us and either to one of the 14 city hospitals and become blood donors.

 

It is worth recalling that the number of Honorary Donors for whom the Moscow Government has established increased (compared to the federal level) social benefits is constantly growing in the capital.

 

Also on April 19, the Moscow Musical Theater will host a special event "Thank you, Donor!" on the eve of the National Donor Day within the framework of the Moscow Formula of Life Festival , where awards will be presented to donors, organizers of the donor movement and organizations that have made the greatest contribution to the development of blood donation and Blood Service in Moscow.
