Disaccharidase deficiency

Disaccharidase deficiency is a hereditary or acquired decrease in the activity of small intestine enzymes-disaccharidases, which causes a violation of the breakdown and absorption of disaccharides (lactose, sucrose, maltose, etc.) in the small intestine.

This disease can manifest itself by the appearance of symptoms such as bloating, rumbling in the abdomen, diarrhea and is one of the variants of the syndrome of impaired absorption.

In the MCSC, modern diagnostics of the deficiency of enzymes (lactase, sucrose, maltase, glucoamylase) in the small intestine is carried out to select the correct treatment.
