Diffuse esophagospasm (spastic esophageal dyskinesia, "Barsoni-Teschendorf syndrome", "corkscrew-shaped esophagus", "functional diverticula", "clear esophagus", "pilopesophagus", "intermittent paroxysmal dysphagia", "floor spasm", etc.) is a disease characterized by episodic violation of esophageal peristalsis and spastic contractions of its wall.
