SVF-joint therapy

Today, the treatment of osteoarthritis and cartilage defects has become possible without surgery. Promising areas of regenerative medicine are being widely developed in our Center.

What is SVF therapy?

SVF-therapy (from the English Stromal Vascular Fraction) is a technique for the treatment of osteoarthritis and cartilage defects using the stromal vascular fraction (SVF) obtained from its own adipose tissue. It is a safe cellular product for the treatment of degenerative changes in articular cartilage.

Stem cells of adipose tissue contained in SVF have regenerative properties and are able to transform into cells of various organs and tissues, including bone, cartilage and muscle.

The use of SVF therapy significantly slows down cartilage degeneration, improves repair and allows you to prevent or significantly delay joint replacement surgery.

Indications

  • Treatment of arthrosis
  • Acceleration of healing after injuries
  • Elimination of cartilage defects, chondromalacia
  • Tendinitis
  • Reduction of pain syndrome

Therapy results

  • Elimination of pain and inflammation in the joint, reduction of fibrosis.
  • Tissue regeneration, improvement of the work of damaged joint segments, protection of cartilage.
  • Restoring the volume of movement and improving the quality of life.

How is the treatment going?

Under local anesthesia, through punctures in the abdomen and the inner surface of the thigh, adipose tissue is taken (liposuction).

Then the resulting adipose tissue is treated in a certain way under sterile conditions using certified medical equipment.

The resulting stromal-vascular fraction is injected into the damaged area (joint, paraarticular, etc.). Having reached the site of damage, stem cells, under the influence of certain signaling factors, turn into missing cells of the damaged tissue.

The procedure is comfortable and absolutely safe for the patient and in some cases can be performed on an outpatient basis. Its average duration is about an hour.

SVF therapy is performed once and repeated if necessary after two to three years.

Unlike embryonic stem cells, stromal stem cells are the body's own regenerative reserve, proven by nature. There is no risk of immune rejection of own stromal cells.

There are contraindications. Be sure to consult an orthopedic traumatologist.
