Enzyme immunoassay for the diagnosis of diseases

Enzyme immunoassay (Elisa) - this is a method of qualitative and quantitative detections specific antibodies to infectious agents-antigens.

It consists in the formation of a complex complex of antibody, antigen and enzyme.

  • For the manifestation of the reaction, add substrate for the enzyme. When positive the resulting color of the solution changes.

In particular, the method is applied to:

  • diagnosis of infectious diseases
  • determination of the level of markers of oncological diseases
  • diagnosis of allergic and autoimmune diseases
  • determination of hormone levels, etc.

It is often used in laboratory practice, as it has explicit advantages:

  • special specificity (antibodies bind only to certain antigens)
  • high sensitivity
  • speed and convenience of reaction and registration of the result
  • possibility of early diagnosis
  • ease in tracking disease dynamics

In Center for Personalized Medicine MCSC you can take a test to detect IgG and IDM immunoglobulins. coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 as well as a quantitative test to the Spike s protein of the RBD domain to SARS-CoV-2.
