Next-generation sequencing for cancer treatment. Says MCSC expert Zhukova L.G.

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is a modern method of molecular genetic diagnostics.

  • Today, using NGS, it is possible to sequence the entire human genome in one day. When choosing the tactics of treating oncological diseases, such a study helps to most accurately determine the type and composition of the tumor, its possible metastasis and to select an effective personalized therapy for each patient.

The deputy director of the MCSC named after A.S. Loginov for Oncology, Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, MD Lyudmila Grigorievna Zhukova tells in more detail for the project "Medtech. Moscow".
