Atrophic gastritis: oncological risks and analysis of clinical cases. MCSC experts in the GastroClass project
Atrophic gastritis is a chronic progressive disease of the stomach, in which thinning of its mucous membrane and gradual death (atrophy) of the gastric glands occur. As a result, the stomach loses its ability to produce enough hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes.
Atrophic gastritis is considered one of the most dangerous forms of chronic inflammation of the stomach, as it is officially recognized as a precancerous condition.
Oncological risks of the disease were discussed within the framework of the new educational project "GastroClass" under the chairmanship of the project supervisor — MD, Professor Dmitry Stanislavovich Bordin with the participation of invited experts from the Department of Pathology of the pancreas and biliary tract MCSC named after A.S. Loginov.
