Inflammatory bowel diseases. Systemic pathology.

Relevance: 
Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD)-ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD) are among the most significant somatic diseases of the digestive system due to the severity of the course, the frequency of complications and the level of mortality. IBD from the modern point of view should be considered as a systemic disease, non-specific extra-intestinal manifestations of which significantly complicate their diagnosis and treatment. Due to the fact that some systemic complications remain little known to a wide range of clinicians and, consequently, delay the timing of the diagnosis of IBD and the start of pathogenetic therapy.

As part of the course, we: 

1. we will analyze the current data on the pathogenesis of IBD, determine the role of immune system disorders, genetic, environmental and bacterial factors in the incidence of IBD;
2. consider the existing classifications of extra-intestinal manifestations of IBD;
3. we will study the lesions of various organs and systems in IBD, give clinical examples;
4. we will study the features of modern methods of treatment of IBD and extra-intestinal manifestations of UC and CD.
