Breast abscess. Patient history
Newsthe mammological center "clinic of women's health" MCSC named after a.s. loginov was contacted by a patient d. 34 years old with complaints about:
- sharp pains;
- redness of the right breast;
- temperature rise to 38C.
During the last 2 years, she underwent surgical treatment three times to remove purulent inflammation of the right breast. The prescribed antibacterial drug therapy had no effect. The condition of the breast did not improve.
During the examination of the oncologist-mammologist of the Center, swelling of the right breast and its soreness were noted. 
An ultrasound examination was prescribed, which diagnosed edematous infiltrative changes in the right breast, namely:
- swelling of the tissue;
- thickening of the skin;
- a network of dilated lymphatic vessels is visualized.
Based on ultrasound of the mammary glands, it was decided to perform a fine-needle aspiration biopsy followed by microbiological examination of the material and determination of antibiotic sensitivity.
According to its results, a bacterium of the Staphylococcus aureus strain with sensitivity to only 2 antibiotics was identified: vancomycin and linezolid. Antibiotic therapy with linezolid was prescribed for 14 days.
At the control examination after 2 weeks, the inflammatory process was not detected, ultrasound of the mammary glands also showed no signs of pathological changes.
The personal approach of the clinic's doctors in diagnosis and treatment made it possible to conduct adequate conservative treatment and avoid repeated surgical intervention.
