MCSC patient history. Colon cancer

News

Patient A. at the age of 64 applied to the Complex Diagnostics Center MCSC named after A.S. Loginov to undergo a preventive examination of the body. She felt well, she was only worried about the rash on her face.

Also, the woman refused to undergo a colonoscopy, since a year ago she did this study at her place of residence. There were no pathological changes in the colon.

Based on the information received, the patient was offered an optimal check-up program for the examination of the digestive system, which included:

  • consultation of a gastroenterologist;
  • laboratory tests;
  • ultrasound diagnostics;
  • gastroscopy.

During ultrasound of the pelvic organs, the doctor suspected a neoplasm of the sigmoid colon. The question of the need for a colonoscopy left no doubt.

The next day, the patient underwent an endoscopic examination, which revealed a tumor of the sigmoid colon. A biopsy was taken to confirm the diagnosis. According to the results of the morphological examination, an oncological diagnosis was established - adenocarcinoma of the sigmoid colon.

The patient was consulted by the coloproctologist of our Center, surgical treatment was recommended for her.

In the following days, the woman underwent the necessary training, and in the department of coloproctology, surgeons performed an operation – laparoscopically assisted resection of the sigmoid colon. In the postoperative period, the patient's well-being was good, she did not complain.

Today, she continues to be observed by specialists of the MCSC named after A.S. Loginov, feels well and leads an active lifestyle.

This story clearly demonstrates how important it is to undergo a medical examination in a timely manner in order to maintain health for many years.
