Cervical Cancer: Insights from MCSC Expert

News

Cervical cancer ranks fourth in prevalence among women worldwide. In Russia, 14 out of 100,000 women are affected by this disease.

Almost all individuals who engage in active sexual activity contract the human papillomavirus (HPV). In 90% of cases, the immune system clears the infection within a year, with no detectable virus remaining in the body. However, in the remaining 10%, HPV can trigger the development of abnormal cells that progress to cancer.

  • How to protect yourself from HPV?
  • Why does cervical cancer develop?
  • What are the symptoms of cervical cancer?
  • What does the treatment process entail?

These and other questions were addressed by Kateryna Serhiivna Hrechukhina, MD, an oncologist and chemotherapist at the A.S. Loginov MCSC. Read the article for more details: Link to the article: https://n-e-n.ru/rak-sheiki-matki/
