NewsOn September 17-18, Volgograd hosted a conference with international participation " Continuity in oncology: from diagnosis to treatment". It brought together more than 700 specialists from 16 regions of Russia and four countries.
The conference was attended by experts of MCSC named after A.S. Loginov — Head of the Center for Personalized Medicine, Ph.D. Natalia Aleksandrovna Bodunova and Deputy Chief Physician for Oncology, Ph.D. Gurami Yelgujayevich Kvetenadze.
The main topic of the conference was the continuity of oncological care — from diagnosis to the choice of optimal treatment tactics. Today, a comprehensive assessment of the tumor, including its molecular genetic characteristics and hereditary factors, is of increasing importance.
The experts discussed how modern research helps to choose the treatment, approaches to the treatment of breast and gastrointestinal tumors, issues of hematology and the work of multidisciplinary consultations.
MCSC specialists also shared their experience in using minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgical technologies and discussed with colleagues the possibilities of introducing modern approaches into clinical practice.
