Genital warts
In recent years, there has been a sharp increase in the incidence, significant contagiousness and high oncogenic potential of the human papillomavirus. According to various authors, in squamous cell carcinoma of the anal canal, HPV was detected in 12.2% of cases, as a result of which warts can be attributed to precancerous diseases.
Why do I need to remove warts?
Warts can be touched by clothing or underwear, which leads to painful sensations and bleeding;
Large papillomas can secrete fluid, irritate the skin, and provoke inflammation;
Condyloma often degenerates into a tumor.
The risk factors for warts are:
- damage to the mucous or epithelial cover;
- neglect of personal hygiene;
- sexual infections;
- promiscuous sexual relations;
- unprotected sex;
- complications after previous illnesses;
- weakened immune system.
The main complaintsthat arise in the presence of genital warts:
- foreign body sensation,
- traces of blood and pain during defecation,
- itching and burning in the anus,
- wetness.
Diagnosis of genital warts is not so difficult. After collecting the anamnesis, it is enough to perform a rectoromanoscopy\ anoscopy, as well as to study the immune status of the patient. Women are additionally recommended to perform colposcopy.
Our clinic uses a comprehensive treatment approach (a combination of surgical and medical methods), which significantly reduces the frequency of relapses.
Surgical treatment is performed either under local anesthesia (with a small spread of the disease), or under intravenous sedation. Recovery after surgery takes on average from 1 to 5 days.
All patients are recommended to undergo immunomodulatory therapy for 1 month before surgery.
