Polypous sinusitis

Polypous sinusitis is a chronic inflammation of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses, in which benign growths (polyps) occur.

Symptoms

  • nasal congestion
  • mucous or purulent discharge from the nose
  • feeling of pressure, swelling around the nose
  • decreased or loss of sense of smell
  • headaches, etc.

The causes of the appearance of polyps can be very different: from the congenital features of the structure of the nasal cavity (for example, narrow nasal passages) to previous nasal injuries and various diseases (asthma, allergic reactions, frontitis, sinusitis, sinusitis, etc.). Despite the fact that polyps are benign formations, their danger is that they can become malignant.

According to research, this disease occurs in 1.3-13% of 10,000 people. More than 60% of all patients are over 50 years old.

Diagnostics

Among the main methods of diagnosing polypous sinusitis, specialists perform rhinoscopy, endoscopic examination of the nasal cavity, CT of the nose and paranasal sinuses.
In some cases, a histological examination of polyps is performed to exclude the presence of neoplasms, as well as a cytological examination of the mucosa if there is a possibility of allergic inflammation.

Treatment

When the removal of polyps is shown:

  • purulent-inflammatory processes in the nose and paranasal sinuses (chronic frontitis, sinusitis)
  • respiratory dysfunction
  • severe bronchial asthma
  • Snoring
  • violation of the sense of smell
  • curvature of the nasal septum

Laser removal of polyps in MCSC is a minimally invasive, bloodless and painless operation that is performed under the control of an endoscope. The use of state-of-the-art equipment, the high level of operating doctors and the low traumatic nature of the operation make it accessible to almost everyone. Laser removal of polyps is possible even in people suffering from bronchial asthma, who are contraindicated in classical surgical intervention. Removal of polyps with a laser in the MCSC is performed on an outpatient basis, without necessarily being in a hospital. The very next day you will be able to return to your usual lifestyle.

Advantages of minimally invasive laser surgery of ENT diseases:

  • minimum contraindications
  • much less traumatism compared to classical operations
  • the operation takes place in a day hospital
  • short term rehabilitation
  • minimal interference with healthy tissues
  • increase of local immunity
  • asepticism
  • no side effects
  • almost complete bloodlessness
  • a minimum of pain during operations and during rehabilitation.

Laser removal of polyps is a fairly simple and routine operation that is well tolerated by patients.
The MCSC is operated by an otorhinolaryngologist of the highest category, laser surgeon Kozlov Ilya Vladimirovich.
