Barrett's esophagus
Barrett's esophagus is an acquired condition that manifests itself by replacing any part of the squamous epithelium with a metaplastic cylindrical (not typical esophageal epithelium) within the esophageal mucosa.
The main risk factors for Barrett's esophagus are:
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (throwing stomach contents into the esophagus)
- Hernia of the esophageal orifice of the diaphragm
- Age over 50
- White men
- Smoking
- Abdominal obesity
Barrett's esophagus without adequate treatment can lead to ulcers and peptic strictures (narrowing) of the esophagus. And the most formidable complication is the risk of developing esophageal ADENOCARCINOMA!
But we all know that any disease is best treated before its complications occur. And the only reliable way to diagnose Barrett's esophagus is an endoscopic examination of the esophagus and stomach (gastroscopy), which patients with the above risk factors should undergo at least once a year.
In case of detection of Barrett's esophagus, we will offer you endoscopic treatment-argonoplasma destruction of the esophageal mucosa.
The essence of the method is that this method is contactless. The impact on the affected area with argon plasma occurs at a distance, without touching the surface itself, so that the healing process of the tissues after the procedure is fast. The MCSC uses the most modern technologies of hybrid argonoplasmic coagulation, which allow to achieve maximum efficiency with minimal risk of complications.
The procedure itself is performed in a state of drug-induced sleep, which eliminates unpleasant sensations during its execution. The next day, the doctor can already let you go home!
Employees of the department of operative endoscopy conduct an appointment in the BDO MCSC from Monday to Thursday from 14.00 to 16.00
Address of the BDO MCSC: 86, Entuziastov Highway, Moscow, 111123.
