Tumor of the rectum. MCSC patient history

News

A 56-year-old patient applied to the MCSC. For several years, she complained of feeling a foreign body in her anus. Periodically she paid attention to the admixture of a small amount of mucus and blood in the stool and on toilet paper.

The patient turned to the coloproctologist in the Polyclinic at the place of residence, where she was diagnosed – internal hemorrhoids of 2 degrees. Medication was prescribed. However, the symptoms did not go away, and she was sent to the MCSC named after A.S. Loginov for a colonoscopy.

According to the results of the study, a tumor with a diameter of about 3 cm was found. Histological examination showed that this tubulo-villous adenoma - a benign tumor that, as a result of growth, can transform into cancer.

The patient was referred for surgery:

  • transanal removal of rectal tumor;
  • the duration of the operation was 25 minutes;
  • the patient is discharged on the 2nd day after surgery.

The patient is recommended to repeat colonoscopy after 1 year.

Very often, benign and malignant tumors of the colon can be detected randomly, which means that not always the result of treatment can be favorable, as in this case.

Specialists of MCSC named after A.S. Loginov recommend to undergo regular examinations to avoid complications!
