According to WHO, more than 450 million people in the world today suffer from mental disorders – that is, one in five. For 3 years depression has been ranked first among diseases in terms of the duration of disability per year.

 Interesting facts:

  • the number of applications of Russians to psychologists in 2023 increased by almost 15% compared to the previous year;
  • Mental disorders are an important risk factor for the occurrence of other diseases;
  • during depression, the retina of the eye becomes less sensitive, so the patient is less able to distinguish colors;
  • every day a person has from 12 to 60 thousand thoughts, 80% of which are negative;
  • even positive events, such as a new job, marriage, or the birth of a child, can lead to depression;
  • The life expectancy of people suffering from severe mental disorders is 10-20 years less than the average for the population.
