World Hepatitis Day
July 28 - World Hepatitis Day.
Today, 325 million people live with the hepatitis B and C virus worldwide. They are the underlying cause of liver cancer, which kills 1.34 million people each year.
Purpose of the event:
- raising awareness of the disease;
- drawing public attention to the problem;
- encourage people to make greater use of hepatitis prevention, testing, and treatment services.
