Scientific and practical activities:A biomedical scientist with expertise in molecular biology, genetics, microbiology and stem cell biology with extensive experience in flow cytometry, especially hematopoietic stem cells and immune system cells.

More than 10 years of experience in creating genetically modified animals, experience working with animal models, including organizing and managing a gnotobiological vivarium at the University of Chicago. 

Work experience: Since 2019 - Director of the Center for Genomic Technologies and Bioinformatics at MIPT.

  • Scientific and educational center within the framework of the national project "Science" as part of the Kurchatov Genomic Center in the areas of "Genetic technologies for agricultural development" and "Genetic technologies for industrial microbiology". 
  • Since 2016 - Head of the Laboratory of Genomic Engineering at MIPT. Works in the following areas: editing of human stem and somatic cells in order to create therapies for cancer, autoimmune and infectious diseases, development of technological platforms for editing the genome of animals and plants, for example, creation of animals and plants resistant to pathogens of viral and bacterial nature, translation of genome editing technologies (technologies based on the CRISPR system) into scientific and applied projects.
  • 2015 - laboratory of genome editing with a focus on the creation of genetic models of animals in the field of Virology and Immunology, regenerative medicine, stem cell biology at the Burnazyan FMBC of the FMBA of Russia, in the laboratory of Preclinical research at MIPT. Work on the creation of new animal models for studying the biology of hematopoietic stem cells, the interaction of innate and acquired immunity with microflora, as well as with pathogenic bacteria and viruses, as well as editing the genome of hematopoietic stem cells using CRISPR/Cas9 technology to create therapies for currently incurable diseases such as HIV, as well as genetic blood diseases (sickle-shaped-cellular anemia).
  • 2015 - Visiting Scholar at the Baltic Federal University.Organization of scientific and teaching activities, formation of a laboratory complex, teaching in the form of mentoring work with students, graduate students and university staff.
  • 2011-2015 - Postdoc at Boston Children's Hospital at Harvard University (Harvard University, USA). The work on the following topics: the discovery of a combination of transcription factors for reprogramming differentiated blood cells into hematopoietic stem cells for the development of a clinical protocol for obtaining hematopoietic blood cells in transplantation, the use of CRISPR/Cas9 technology for genome editing, the creation of animal models for studying the biology of hematopoietic stem cells, the role of miR-142 in hematopoiesis.
  • 2006-2011 - PhD student/postdoc at The University of Chicago (The University of Chicago, Chicago, USA). Work on the following topics: the role of intestinal microflora in the development of type I diabetes, the creation of animal models to study the role of PAMPs (DAMPs) in the development of autoimmunity, the role of intestinal microflora and T regulatory cells in suppressing the development of autoimmune response.
  • 2005 – 2008 - Post-graduate student at the Institute of Gene Biology and the Institute of General Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Russia). Work in the field of epigenetic regulation of key transcription factors regulating the maintenance of pluripotency of embryonic stem cells and their tissue-specific differentiation.

Area of scientific interests: Biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, medicine, immunology, pharmacology, toxicology and pharmacy, regenerative medicine, stem cells, bioinformatics, engineering.
